Super Spiel Super In Port Elgin

The chair of Port Elgin's Super Spiel says it was nice to see a full roster of teams participate in this year's event.

The Ontario Curling Tour stop featured 24 rinks and an $18,000 purse.

Earl Anderson says it was a good mix of local and out of area teams which enjoy the hospitality and the venue.

"Our ice is exceptional. The last couple of years we made some changes in our ice process and competitors are telling me we have a very consistent and favourable type of ice."

A Brampton team, skipped by Dayna Deruelle, beat a Brantford rink 8-3 in the final.

Local rinks competing in the event over the weekend came from Port Elgin, Tara, Paisley, Owen Sound and Listowel.
