Corvairs Win Sutherland Cup

The Caledonia Corvairs are Sutherland Cup Champions. Blake Luscombe scored the game winner in overtime as the Corvairs beat the  London Nationals 4-3 to win the series in four games.

Kyle Robinson gave the Nationals a chance to stay in the series by scoring the equalizer with less than a minute left in the second period. London had been trailing 2-0 after the first before scoring three times in the second. Two of those goals came on the power play courtesy of Matt Doty and Callum Ruddock.

Ruddock had a goal and two assists in the game.

Caledonia out shot London 48-35 including 18-9 in a scoreless third period. Connor Hughes stopped 44 shots for the Nationals. Mark Sinclair made 32 saves for Caledonia.

Mitchell Fitzmorris, Nick Zottl, and Ryan Moran all scored for the Corvairs.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
