Saugeen Club Athletes Making Noise At Nationals

Saugeen Track and Field Club athletes continue to make noise at the National Youth Track and Field Championships in Brandon, Manitoba.

In the U16 Boy's Shot Put, Wingham's Ryan Jacklin winning a gold medal with a 16.09 m distance. He also added a bronze medal in the U16 Boy's Javelin with a 53.35 m throw. He now has three medals after earning a silver with a 55.81 m personal best throw on Friday.

Teammate Jeremy Elliott earned silver in the shot put with a 15.99 m distance. He also threw a personal best 50.84 m in the discuss on Friday and finished 4th.

In the U16 Girl's 2000 m, Jessie Byers finished 10th with a time of 6:47.64. That is a follow up to her 8th place finish in the 1200 m. She ran a personal best of 3:44.93 in that race.

And Brooke Jez was 14th in the 2000 m with a time of 7:00.65.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
