Listowel Wins Bid To Host Sr. A Baseball Provincial Championships

Exciting news for Listowel Baseball.

The Listowel Legionnaires have won their bid to host the 2018 and 2019 Men's Sr. A Division Provincial Championships on Labour Day weekend. Chris Kurz, the head of the Legionnaires, says it's an exciting opportunity.

"We're very excited, we couldn't be more excited with the opportunity. We feel we'll put on a tremendous show."

Kurz says the Legionnaires' goal was to bring baseball fever back to Listowel, and securing this event for the next two summers will go a long way toward doing that. Kurz notes the resurgence of baseball in Listowel will be helped by the tournament, as well as the continued success of the youth program in town.

"Our Listowel Minor Ball program is doing some phenomenal things and seeing a ton of success and we're really proud of them. We're hoping a lot of those kids stick with playing ball and play on our squad someday."
