Local Hockey Player Qualifies For Ontario Summer Games

A local athlete from Clinton has been invited the participate in the 2018 Ontario Summer Games.

Grade 9 student Sydney McAsh, who is a very skilled youth hockey player out of St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School, will be one of 3,500 athletes, coaches and officials at the Ontario Summer Games from August 2nd-5th.

The city of London hosts the games this year, which were started in 1970 to showcase high end youth athletes aged 12-18. It includes a number of team and individual sports. Sydney made the cut at one of the three hockey tryouts that were hosted in Toronto and Ottawa.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
