Local Softball Star Receives Softball Canada Award

A local softball star is adding to his trophy case.

Mitchell native and Softball Canada Men's National Team member Tyler Pauli will be one of two recipients of Softball Canada's Ethel Boyce Memorial Award this November. The award, created in memory of Ethel Boyce, goes annually to a male and female recipient each year who have exhibited leadership traits and skills in softball.

Both recipients receive $1,000. The award is meant to help the recipients with the costs of education and/or playing softball. Pauli is a co-winner with Aryane Desy from Montreal, Quebec. They will receive their award at the Softball Canada Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet on November 10th, 2018 in Montreal, Que.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
