Wingham hosts its next Silverstick

Twenty-four minor hockey atom teams converge on Wingham Sunday.

The Wingham Regional Atom Silvestick is scheduled to start with games in Wingham at 9 a.m.

There are 12 teams in the "B" division and 12 in the "C" division.

Each division is split up into three groups of four.

The three group winners will advance to the playoffs along with a wild card.

Listowel comes in as the defending "B" champ and West Grey as the defending "C" champion.

Games will continue through next week with the championship games December 2nd.

The groupings are as follows: B1 - BCH, Hanover, Listowel, Mount Forest B2 - Mitchell, Twin Centre, Elmvale, Kincardine B3 - Shelburne, Saugeen Shores, Tavistock, Walkerton

C1 - Wingham, Blyth-Brussles, TCDMHA, Flesherton C2 - Essa, South Bruce, West Grey, Central Perth C3 - Huron-Bruce, Howick, Shallow Lake, Drayton

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
