Australian hockey team visiting local rink for exhibition games

Perth East is welcoming some special guests to battle on the ice.

The Queensland Cyclones, a hockey team from Australia, is coming toplay exhibition games against the Perth East Predators Peewee and Bantam teams. 31 total young athletes are making the trip, with the games scheduled for Monday, March 4th at 8:30 and Tuesday, March 5th at 7:30 and 9. The games will all be played at the Perth East Rec complex in Milverton.

The players will be training at the rink with local hockey enthusiast Mike Carter of the Huron Perth Lakers, Kory Dietz of Power Edge Pro and Philip Westman and Mark Nelson of the Stratford Warriors. The trip was organized by Mike Harrow, a former Perth East resident who now lives in Queensland, Australia and manages the Queensland Cyclones program.
