Power play chaos in Mount Forest

The Wingham Ironmen and Mount Forest Patriots combined for seven power play goals in Game 3 of the Pollock Division Finals and the Ironmen came out on top 9-4.

Both teams exchanged power play goals in the first period and Wingham notched one even strength at the 14:31 mark to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.

That's when things started to get chippy.

Wingham captain Jamie Huber opened the second period scoring on the power play with a quick shot that went glove side high on David Lobsinger just a minute into the period. Wingham added another goal about 35 seconds later thanks to Parker Gibbings and the Ironmen built a 4-1 lead.

The Ironmen would outscore Mount Fourest 4-2 in the second period and carry a 6-3 lead into the third.

Things did not get any better for Mount Forest in the third as Wingham would tack on three more and finished the game 9-4 winners.

That gives Wingham a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 on Wednesday 8:30 p.m.

Wingham was 4-for-9 on the power play and Mount Forest was 3-for-7.

Both teams will be missing players for Game 3.

Both Jack Francis and Chet Phillips recieved gross misconducts for the removing a helmet and Wingham's Corey Restoule was given a 5 minute major and game misconduct for slasing late in the third period.
