Patriots lose close one at home, Exeter falls again to Lakeshore

The Mount Forest Patriots top go-getters couldn't notch any goals and Alliston knotted up the North Conference Final up at one with a 3-1 win in Game 2 in Alliston Friday night.

Alliston would score twice in the first period, once on the power play, to take a 2-0 lead into the second period.

Michael Anselmini scored the only goal in the second, and the Patriots' only goal of the game, to make it 2-1.

The Hornets finished it off in the third period.

Mount Forest peppered the Alliston net with 47 shots.

Aidan Quish faced 23 and stopped 20.

Game 3 of the series is in Mount Forest Saturday at 8 p.m. and the game can be heard on Cherrey Buslines OHA Hockey on CKNX.

The Exeter Hawks couldn't hold or increase a lead and lost 6-2 to Lakeshore as the Canadiens go up 2-0 in the South Conference Final.

Exeter took a 2-1 lead in the second period but Lakeshore would run ahead scoring five unanswered goals, one on an empty net.

Game 4 is in Lakeshore Sunday night.
