Conners in good spot after first round at Masters

Listowel's Corey Conners was able to string together two birdies and an eagle on the back nine in his first round at The Masters.

After shooting a 1-over par on the front nine, he put himself back under par for the round with birdies on the 13th and 14th. And he sunk an eagle on the par-5 15th.

Conners would end the day with a 2-under-70. That is good for a tie for 11th.

Conners second round tee off time is 11:15AM Friday.

Five players sit at 3-under, two are at 4-under, Phil Mickelson is alone at 5-under and the leaders are at 6-under. They are Americans Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Tiger Woods is at 2-under and the only other Canadian in the field, Mike Weir, is even par.
