A trio of close games in Jr. hockey preseason play

GOJHL

Kitchener 2 Elmira 1

Cam Allan scored the game winner midway through the second and the Kitchener Dutchmen edged Elmira 2-1 in GOJHL Preseason play.

The Sugar Kings' Kurtis Goodwin opened the scoring at 4:40 of the first period. Mitch Lee tied it on the power play at 3:35 of the second.

Stratford 3 Komoka 2

Zac Hatch scored in overtime to give the Stratford Warriors a 3-2 win over Komoka.

The Warriors were up 2-1 late in the third when Kings' Spencer Lapointe scored with 40 seconds remaining to send the game into extra time.

PJHL

The Exeter Hawks and Kincardine Bulldogs played to a 4-4 tie.

Connor Aarts tied the game for the Hawks with less than a minute left in regulation and neither team was able to score in OT.

The Hawks were down 4-2 late in the third before Nic Bedard put the team to within a goal with just under two minutes left in the middle frame.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
