Mixed doubles curling duo keep climbing national rankings

A local mixed doubles curling team raised their profile last weekend.

Shawn and Katie Cottrill, who curl out of the Wingham Golf and Curling Club, have jumped to second overall in the National Mixed Doubles Curling rankings. The standings jump comes after an impressive showing at a tournament at Nutana Curling Club in Saskatchewan, where Team Cottrill lost in the semi finals, but gained enough points to climb from 6th to 2nd.

Team Cottrill now only trail National Champs Jocelyn Peterman of Calgary and Brett Gallant of Newfoundland in the national standings for mixed doubles curling. The Cottrill's will compete in another tournament this coming weekend in Brampton.
