Attack to send donated sticks to soldiers stationed around the world

The Owen Sound Attack are going to help out soldiers overseas this year.

The team announced yesterday their new "Sticks for Soldiers" program. The Attack will partner with the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre’s Family Resource Centre in Meaford, and ask fans to bring gently used or new hockey sticks to two games this season that will be sent to soldiers stationed around the world. Soldiers enjoy playing road hockey as a way to relieve stress and remind them of home.

Fans can and are encouraged to bring sticks for donation this Saturday, September 28th against the Guelph Storm, and again on Saturday, March 21st against Guelph again. Retired Colonel Alex Ruff brought the idea to the team last year.
