Former Cyclones player heading to the NCAA

A former Listowel Cyclone is heading to the NCAA.

Wallace native Mitch Deelstra has announced he has committed to NCAA Division 1 Ferris State. Deelstra played minor hockey locally for the Huron-Perth Lakers, before joining the Junior C Wingham Ironmen for a season. He then played 2 years in Listowel, winning two Cherrey Cups and the team's first ever Sutherland Cup.

This year, Deelstra is back for his second year in the Junior A BCHL with the Alberni Bulldogs, where he has 18 points in 19 games played.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
