Local curlers reach the top of the Canadian Mixed Doubles ranks

A major accomplishment for two local curlers.

Shawn and Katie Cottrill, a mixed doubles curling team that curl out of Wingham, will end the 2019 season ranked number 1 in all of Canada.

Team Cottrill began mixed doubles competition 5 years ago, and have climbed all the way to the top of the rankings following a number of strong performances this year.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
