Mitchell stays ahead with OT win in Kincardine

The Mitchell Hawks had to pour on the pressure late in the third period and it paid off as they went on to win 3-2 in overtime in Kincardine.

The Hawks opened the scoring at 11:28 of the first period with Luken Van Pelt power play.

Kincardine would take the lead in the second by scoring twice in a two minute span. Bulldogs' defenceman Logan Swanton tied the game at the 3:54 mark, then Jerrid Fossold scored a power play goal at 5:51.

Neither team could score through the third period until Mitchell tied up the game. With the goalie pulled, Zach Dow scored with just 32 seconds left in regulation.

Spencer Dowd then scored the winner in overtime.

Kincardine out shot Mitchell 43-39 in the game.

The win keeps Mitchell in third place but with the Bulldogs picking a point because of overtime, they are just two points back.
