Attack ices Barrie

The Owen Sound Attack recognized forward Aidan Dudas and head coach Alan Letang before Wednesday night's game against Barrie.

Dudas and Letang at their first home game with Owen Sound after returning from the World Juniors.

The team looking to get back on the winning side after going 1-2 on an eastern Ontario road swing that included a win in Peterborough and losses in Kingston and Ottawa.

Barrie opened the scoring at 8:16 of the first period but Owen Sound responded with a pair of goals. Brady Lyle tied it on the power play at the 13:28 mark and Sergey Popov scored the go ahead goal at 17:32.

Kaleb Lawrence and Matthew Philip scored in the second and third periods respectively and Owen Sound went on to win 4-1.

Attack goalie Matt Guzda stopped 29 shots for the win.

The win puts Owen Sound just five points behind Guelph for third in the Midwest Division and those two teams will meet in Guelph Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
