Barons win boosts them in the standings

The Hanover Barons held off the Goderich Flyers for an 8-6 win at the P and H Centre Wednesday night.

The Flyers mounted a comeback after falling behind 6-1 midway through the second. Goderich scored three goals in just over three minutes in the second half of the period but came up short by the end of the game.

Hanover's win ties them with Kincardine for fourth, just two points behind Mitchell.

The Barons host Wingham Friday night in their last game of the regular season. That game will be at 8 p.m. and the feature game on Cherrey Buslines OHA Hockey on CKNX.

Kincardine and Mitchell have two games left.

The Bulldogs are home to Mount Forest at 8:30 p.m. Friday and in Goderich at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Mitchell Hawks are in Mount Forest on Saturday at 8 p.m. and home to Mount Forest on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
