WOAA Senior Hockey playoff series set

The WOAA Senior Hockey playoffs are set to start this weekend.

The regular season ended with a jam up the middle with five teams within six points of each other. And thee, four and five spots had to go to a tie breaker to determine the seeding.

In the end, Ripley finished at the top with 19-3 record and will face Durham in the 'AA' Quarter-Finals. Game one is in Ripley Friday at 8:30 p.m..

Two more series start Friday as well with Saugeen Shores hosting Tillsonburg at 8:30 p.m. and Seaforth in Clinton at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The fourth quarter-final starts Satuday night in Shelburne with Minto visiting at 8 p.m.

In the 'A' playoffs, Tavistock and Elora get the bye. In the quarter-finals Milverton takes on Shallow Lake in a Best of 3 that starts Friday in Milverton at 8:30 p.m. And the Lucknow-Petrolia series has yet to be scheduled.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
