OHA names Stratford Warriors Head Coach Dave Williams as Coach of the Year

The Ontario Hockey Association has named Stratford Warriors Head Coach Dave Williams as Coach of the Year for 2019-20.

Williams has over 20 years of coaching experience and has been involved with the OHA for over a decade. Williams first coached and served as GM for the Listowel Cyclones from 2003 to 2006, and then served as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations from 2010-2012. He then coached the Kitchener Dutchmen for one season in 2013-14 and then joined Stratford, then known as the Cullitons, in 2015-16, and has been there ever since.

This year, Williams led a young Warriors club to a 4th place finish in the GOJHL Midwestern Conference despite having 10 first year players and only 4 returnees from the previous season.

Outside the OHA, Williams has also coached the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2010, and also has done scouting for the United States Hockey League's Bloomington Thunder from 2014-17 and the USHL's Central Illinois Flying Aces from 2017-19.
