Hanover Raceway changes post time for Dream of Glory

The Dream of Glory at Hanover Raceway will be run a little earlier this year.

The raceway was granted a post time change for the Saturday, August 1 event, with the post time moved up to 2 p.m. from 6:15 p.m.

The reason for the change, COVID-19 and cancelling of the fireworks.

The event usually attracts roughly 5,000 people but that won't be case this year with pandemic restrictions in place.

"Our board waited as long as we could to try and have the traditional fireworks display following our Dream of Glory card, but COVID-19 restrictions will not allow for us to congregate at the present time for such an event. It traditionally draws 5,000 people. They therefore cancelled the fireworks for this season," Fitzsimmons explained. "With our success to date in the 2:00 p.m. post time slot, we felt that without the fireworks, we would shift our post time back to our regular time this season."
