Winterhawks promote Antler to Head Coach

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks announced the hiring of Ben Antler as the team's new Head Coach on Tuesday.

The Port Elgin native has spent the past two seasons as an Assistant Coach and will now assume the head coaching duties.

Antler becomes the fifth head coach in Winterhawks history. Jeff Barfoot will remain a member of the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach, a position he has held alongside Antler for the past two seasons.

The organization is continuing to prepare for the return of the WOAA Sr. AA Hockey League in the fall of 2021.

"We've been impressed with Ben's progression over the past two seasons and it felt like the time was right to let him take the reins," said General Manager Ryan Brown.
