Cyclones shut out on the road, PJHL Sunday games

The Listowel Cyclones couldn't get a puck past the Siskins' Cy Martin in 1-0 loss Sunday afternoon.

Listowel put 28 shots on net but couldn't beat Martin. And in the other crease, Cyclones' goalie Dixon Grimes was perfect up until late in the third period.

Siskins' forward Ben Oliver snapped the scoreless tie in Kitchener-Waterloo's favour on a 2-on-1 rush with just 3:03 left to play in the third.

In other games Sunday, Brantford beat Elmira 3-1 to hand the Sugar Kings their first loss of the season. And Stratford beat Caledon 5-2.

Further west, St. Marys lost on the road, 6-3 to Chatham.

In the PJHL, the Mount Forest Patriots scored a 6-2 win in Goderich.

It was a good afternoon for Calan Tanzi-Foshay, who scored four goals, including the winner.

In Wingham, the Ironmen beat Walkerton 4-2.

Kyle Stanbury scored all four goals for Wingham.

Wingham is ahead of the pack with a 5-2 record and 10 points. Hanover is a point behind followed by Mitchell which is two points back.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
