Some big names confirm for curling event in Port Elgin

Three teams have confirmed their participation in the Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard presented by Bruce Power.

The event is set to start February 9 at at the Plex in Port Elgin.

Team John Epping, Team Glenn Howard and Team Pat Ferris are the first three teams to be part of the event line up.

Team Epping was the top Ontario residency team at the Curling Canada Trials.

One week ticket packages are still available and can be purchased at portelgincurlingclub.com.

Buyers will have the option to purchase through the Port Elgin Curling Club, or to support other clubs including the Bluewater Curling Club, Chesley, Paisley, Tara, Southampton, Kincardine, Walkerton, Wiarton, Markdale, and Mount Forest.

There are five more teams yet to be announced to complete the eight team field for the tankard.

Two teams will advance from the CurlOn Cashspiel at the Collingwood Curling Club December 17 to 19.

And three teams will advance from the Open Qualifier January 7 to 9, at the Welland Curling Club.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
