Owen Sound team wins International Silver Stick tourney

The Owen Sound Leeder & Associates U10 A Jr. Attack went undefeated to clinch the International Silver Stick tournament.

Hosted this year in Newmarket, the Jr. Attack dominated the round robin, outscoring opponents 19-4 in 4 games. They clinched a semi-final berth, beating the Georgina Blaze 3-1, placing them in a final against the Essex-Southpoint Capitals. Owen Sound were triumphant in the final by a 4-2 score this morning in Newmarket to clinch the title. The team will celebrate today with a championship parade in Owen Sound, starting from the top of the hill coming into town and heading to the Bayshore.

The public are welcome to come out and honk and show support for the team.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
