Tankard 50/50 draws raise money for charities

Four local charities are benefitting from the recent Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard presented by Bruce Power.

A 50/50 draw was done at every draw during the week of the Tankard. The results led to four donations of $1,145.00 each being donated to four local charities.

Those charities included The Women’s House serving Grey and Bruce, Southampton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and the Foodbank.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
