Two local teams win OASA eliminations

Two OASA Elimination tournaments were held over the weekend.

The U17 tournament was in Napanee. The Chatsworth Longhorns beat Napanee 9-2 in the final.

Longhorns' pitcher Joseph Weiler was named most valuable pitcher.

The Owen Sound Selects won the U23 Eliminations in Woodstock, 10-3 over Tavistock.

From the Selects, Clay Dolboer was named most valuable player and Riley Manion most valuable pitcher.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
