Brussels welcomes teams for 50th annual fastball tournament

The 50th Annual Men's Invitational Fastball Tournament starts up in Brussels Friday evening and runs through the weekend.

A total of 16 teams are competing.

There are five games scheduled for opening night:

Brussels Tigers vs. Rockwood, 7 p.m. (Brussels Main Diamond)

Kitchener vs. Dundalk, 7 p.m. (Ethel)

Brussels Bangers vs. Sebringville, 8:45 p.m. (Brussels Main Diamond)

Tavistock vs. Fuallarton, 8:45 p.m. (Ethel)

Walton vs. Delaware, 10:30 p.m. (Brussels Main Diamond)

Games on Saturday will start at at 8:30 a.m. with the playoffs on Sunday.

The Brussels Optimist Club will also be selling 50/50 tickets and tickets for their homecoming, drive-thru, Pork Chop BBQ.

There is also a refreshment tent that will be open on Friday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
