Midwestern Ontario native named to Team Canada

An athlete from Midwestern Ontario is going to represent Team Canada once again.

Corbyn Smith of Monkton has been named to the 2024 Canadian Para Hockey team.

Smith is among 17 players who will represent the country from May 4-12 at the World Para Hockey Championship in Calgary.

In 2023, Smith was part of the roster that won silver at the World Championships, and also won silver at the 2023 Para Hockey Cup.

Smith has represented Team Canada since 2017, and has amassed 56 points in that time.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
