Attack lose to Sudbury despite stellar performance from George

Owen Sound got a stellar goalie performance on Sunday, but it still wasn’t enough to extend their win streak.

The Attack hosted the Sudbury Wolves and ended up losing 3-1. Carter George made 45 saves in the loss, earning the first star of the game.

Owen Sound was coming off back-to-back wins, still unable to win three games in a row all season.

In the first period, Sudbury had 23 shots but only got one goal thanks to George. Ondrej Molnar was able to find the back of the net for his 3rd goal of the season.

The second period was like the first as Sudbury outshot the Attack but were only able to score one goal. This time it was Nathan Villeneuve getting the goal.

The Attack’s Max Bleicher would get them back in the game with his 1st OHL goal early in the third period. However, that was all the offense Owen Sound could muster.

Sudbury’s Rowan Henderson later scored an empty netter for his 1st OHL goal.

With the loss, Owen Sound sees its record drop to 5-9-2-2, while Sudbury moves to 9-7-2-0.

The Attack’s next game is on Thursday, November 14, on the road against the Peterborough Petes.
