Attack beat Sault Ste. Marie at home

The Owen Sound Attack were able to win a low scoring game against Sault Ste. Marie.

They hosted the Greyhounds on Saturday and ended up winning 3-1.

Sam McCue opened the scoring in the first period with the Attack’s team leading 17th goal of the season. They outshot Sault Ste. Marie 10 to 5 in the period.

Neither team were able to score in the second period with Sault Ste. Marie getting 15 shots, while the Attack got 11.

The third period saw both teams exchange goals just over a minute apart. The first came from Sault Ste. Marie’s Justin Cloutier with Tristan Delisle giving the Attack the lead back with his 7th goal.

Ben Cormier added a powerplay goal with under a minute left to cap the scoring. It was his 7th goal of the season.

Attack goaltender Matthew Koprowski made 29 saves in the game.

With the win, Owen Sound improves its record to 8-16-2-3, while Sault Ste. Marie moves to 13-15-0-0.

The Attack's next game is on Wednesday, December 11, at home against the Guelph Storm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
