Midwestern Ontario athletes named to Softball Canada U23 roster

Softball Canada has unveiled the roster and coaching staff for the U23 national team this year.

The team features four athletes from Midwestern Ontario. That includes Durham native Alex McGillivray, who also stars for the PJHL's Hanover Barons in hockey. Joining him are Wingham native Mac Mulvey, Hepworth's Matt Weiler, and Shakespeare's Reese Yantzi.

Yantzi played on the 2023 team that finished 5th at the WBSC World Cup. McGillivray, Weiler, and Mulvey are all former U18 team members.

This roster will represent Canada at the 2025 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place May 1-11, 2025, in La Pampa (Santa Rosa), Argentina.
