Hanover Barons return to Schmalz Cup semifinals

The Hanover Barons are back-to-back PJHL North Conference Champions, after finishing off the Orillia Terriers in five games.

Hanover closed out the series with 2-1 win on home ice Friday. Eliott McCarey potted the winner late in the second period on the powerplay. Sam Barrett opened the scoring for the Barons.

Derek Hartley was stellar in net, stopping 38 of 39 shots.

A year after falling to the Clarington Eagles, the Barons are back in the Schmalz Cup semifinals.

They will take on the Napanee Raiders with the series schedule set to be announced later.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
