High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Brussels native Ty Sebastian has been named to Softball Canada's roster for the upcoming WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals.The tournament will take place from July 8-13 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Sebastian was on the roster that captured silver at the 2022 Men's Finals.Team Canada, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, has been slotted in Group A, alongside Argentina (No.1), New Zealand (No. 8), and Venezuela (No. 5). Group B will feature Australia (No. 2), Dominican Republic (No. 11), Japan (No. 3), and USA (No. 6). The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, with the top teams from there moving on to compete in the medal round.
