The Ontario Elite Hockey League is welcoming three new teams to the league for the 2025-26 season.
The OEHL shared in a press release that the league is welcoming the Elora Rocks, Shelburne Muskies and Tillsonburg Thunder to the league.
Formerly part of the WOAA Senior AA league, the OEHL was established starting with last season, with a goal of continuing to showcase "competitive Sr. “AA” hockey across small communities in Ontario," according to the press release.
Prior to the announced expansion, the league consisted of Ripley Wolves, Seaforth Centenaires, Minto 81s, Tavistock Royals, Saugeen Shores Winterhawks, Creemore Coyotes, Georgian Bay Applekings, Erin Outlaws, Durham Thundercats, Milverton Four Wheel Drives and the Lucknow Lancers.
Additionally, the league did share that more expansion applications are still possible.
"These are three franchises steeped in hockey tradition," said OEHL Commissioner Rick Richardson. "We are thrilled to have them join our league. We remain open to approving additional teams in time for the 2025-26 season."
