Cyclones sign Schmalz Cup hero from Hanover

The Listowel Cyclones have signed a hero from Hanover's Schmalz Cup run this spring, inking forward Aaron Dukeshire to a deal with the Junior B club.

Dukeshire scored the Schmalz Cup-clinching goal in overtime back in May to beat the Essex 73s in four games.

The Cycs announced the signing on Wednesday, stating on social media that the team was proud to make the addition.

"A clutch performer with a winning mentality, we’re excited to have him bring that energy to Listowel," read the post on Instagram.

Dukeshire played just 15 games with the Barons in the regular season, tallying 28 points. He matched that total during the playoff run, potting 16 goals and playing in every game on the way to the Barons first championship title since 1991.

The Cyclones fell in the first round of the playoffs to the London Nationals.
