Athlete pool for Men's Softball U23 World Cup revealed with many Midwestern Ontario athletes

The player pool for the 2026 Men's U23 WBSC Softball World Cup for Team Canada has been announced, and the list features a few Midwestern Ontario athletes. That includes Durham's Alex McGillivray, who also stars for the Hanover Barons PJHL team. McGillivray was named as one of the initial core eight athletes on the roster.

Another pool of athletes has been named to compete for the final eight roster spots. That pool includes Danny Scott of Stratford, Aaron Waugh of St. Marys, Joseph Weiler of Hepworth, and Aidan Yarde from Owen Sound.

These athletes will wait until January 15, 2026 to find out if they've made the final roster for the World Cup.

The tournament will be played April 25 to May 3, 2026 in Sincelejo, Colombia.
