Sting Hire Former NHLer Staubitz

The Sarnia Sting has hired former NHL enforcer and Sarnia resident Brad Staubitz as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Staubitz recently retired from professional hockey after spending the 2014-15 season with EV Landshut in Germany.

He played 230 games in the NHL with San Jose, Minnesota, Montreal and Anaheim. He amassed 521 penalty minutes to go along with 21 points.

GM Nick Sinclair comments, “As a group, we’re very excited about today’s announcement, and what Brad brings to the table for our organization. He’s a guy who’s had to work harder than most to accomplish what he has, and we feel that this is something our players can certainly learn from. He’s a guy who’s played over 200 games in our league, and knows the preparation it takes to be successful at this level and beyond.”

Staubitz, who was originally born in Edmonton, Alberta, spent the majority of his childhood in Sarnia. He is a Lambton Jr. Sting and Wallaceburg Lakers Alumnus.
