Habitat Hands Over Keys To Craig Family

A local deserving family has been given keys to their own house thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

Devon and Danica Craig and their three young children walked into their newly-renovated century home Thursday, which was revived thanks to the efforts of 150 volunteers.

Executive Director Sarah Reaume says originally built in 1895, the home needed much work due to a near-catastrophic fire.

"This is the 35th home that Habitat has either built or renovated in Sarnia-Lambton and this is actually the third year and the third build of our Habitat Youth program," says Reaume.

The program saw various student volunteers from four area secondary schools, Lambton College, Sacred Heart and St. Michael's Catholic parishes.
