Real Estate Market Remains On Record Pace

Sarnia-Lambton real estate sales broke another ten-year record for the month of March.

Real Estate Board President Jane Baker says 180 properties sold with a dollar volume of nearly $42-million, up 14% compared to last year.

She says there were 27 sales in the $300,000 to $400,000 price range.

"I've noticed in the past few months that certain price ranges have doubled in the amount of sales," says Baker. "That still may only be a small amount, it may go from two to four, but in terms of sales dollar volume, it's pretty significant it does add to those ten year high numbers we're seeing."

The hot resale market broke 10-year record highs during six months in 2015, and in two of three so far this year.

There are currently 654 active listings in the MLS system with 419 of those being single family homes.

The average sale price so far this year is $223,000, up from $218,000 last year.
