Hodgins Sisters Settling In At U Of Windsor (AUDIO)

Kristy and Kelly Hodgins are keeping busy in their first year at the University of Windsor.

Following a strong senior year of track and field at Northern Collegiate, the twin sisters accepted an opportunity with the Lancers' track and field team. Both had top three finishes at OFSAA in the spring, with Kelly finishing third in 80 m hurdles, and Kristy finished second in senior girls 400 m.

Since the track and field season doesn't get officially started until after Christmas, the Sarnia natives have been playing with the school's varsity soccer team. With soccer commitments, as well as track & field practices, the sisters agreed the beginning of their university careers have been pretty busy.14799951_1362457813794245_1920172795_o

Both sisters have found the score sheet in their freshman season, with Kristy scoring twice while seeing action in four games, two of which she started. Kelly has a goal in four contests.

In the classroom, Kristy is enrolled in the Family & Social Relations program, while Kelly is taking social work.

The pair agreed that the opportunity to play both sports was a big reason behind their decision to go to Windsor. The university's strong track program and its proximity to Sarnia were also factors.

The Lancers wrap up their regular season this weekend with games against York and Guelph. The University of Windsor currently sits in fourth in the OUA's West Division standings with a 7-1-6 record.
