April Is Daffodil Month

April is Daffodil month!

Sarnia-Lambton Canadian Cancer Society spokesperson Paula McKinlay says volunteers will be at local retail outlets all month long, asking for a donation for yellow daffodil pins.

They're looking for individuals to take part in their second annual Daffodil Dip into Lake Huron April 22, at the Sarnia Riding Club.

Proceeds from both events will go to research, and also to help pay for transportation for cancer patients going for treatment.

"Last year alone we provided 2,456 rides in our Wheels of Hope programme," she says. "Volunteer drivers take local cancer patients to appointments in Sarnia, London, Windsor and Toronto, to wherever the appointment is. Those drivers drove over 280,000km last year."
