Contingency Plan In Effect At Lambton

Classes may be cancelled because of a strike but Lambton College is still open.

After failing to reach an agreement by the strike deadline, about 12,000 professors, instructors, counsellors, and librarians at 24 Ontario colleges walked off the job Monday.

As a result, all regular full-time post secondary and apprenticeship programs are cancelled at Lambton College for the duration of the strike, affecting approximately 10,000 full and part-time students.

Co-op placements and work-study positions will proceed as normal and the college, as well as most of its resources, will remain open during regular hours.

The Ontario Early Years Centre will operate as normal and most resources including the library, the Family Wellness Centre, bookstore, and computer labs will stay open.

There are 126 full time and 79 partial load faculty at Lambton College.
