Transformation of former Dow Rec Centre planned

Exciting plans are in the works for the former Dow Recreation Centre off Wellington Street, just east of Modeland Road.

Sarnia-based engineering firm Langtree Controls has a building permit worth almost $2.4 million under review with the city.

Spokesperson Alpesh Patel said they are planning to renovate the 20,000 square foot facility to have two floors of office space, with a combination of individual offices and spaces for teams to work.

"We are excited to announce the transformation of the former Dow Recreation Centre property into the new Langtree Controls headquarters," said Patel. "It's a terrific location and will provide ample space to bring our two existing offices together under one roof."

He said the new location will help them better serve their clients in both Sarnia-Lambton's Chemical Valley and across North America.

"Our staff are very excited. The property has a beautiful park like setting covering seven acres and extra room to grow," he said.

Patel said they plan to move in this fall.

Langtree Controls currently has over 60 employees and offers a variety of services, including pre-engineering, budget preparation, detailed design and project management.
