Sarnia-Lambton mourns loss of rockstar

Sarnia-Lambton is mourning the loss of a well known musician.

Brian Doherty, the guitarist for Big Wreck, died Wednesday at the age of 51 after a fight with cancer.

Doherty, originally from Long Island New York, relocated to Camlachie with his wife in 2002.

After word of his cancer broke in late April, one of his biggest fans launched a GoFundMe page to help Doherty and his family.

The family will receive friends at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home at 102 North Victoria St. Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The family asks those attending to bring their favourite story or memory of Doherty.
