Bowling fundraiser to support addiction treatment centre

Management at a Sarnia bowling alley is hoping you can spare some time this Saturday afternoon for a good cause.

Hi-Way Bowl on London Line is hosting its fourth annual Westover Treatment Centre Bowling Bash Fundraiser from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Manager Jeff Wickens said all proceeds from the event will go towards helping Westover, a leading addiction treatment centre in southern Ontario.

"We've been doing it for the past four years. This year, you know, it's received a lot of attention, so basically we're just hoping to raise as much money as possible for Westover -- they use the money for all sorts of different things that go on there," he said. "The first three years we raised about $500 a year, and this year Diane Norton from Norton Hairstyling offered to help -- she knows some people who have went to Westover, some family members -- so she jumped on and has helped me get a bunch of raffle prizes and what not, along with letting people know about the event."

Wickens said tickets are $25 and include your shoe rental, two games and munchies.

He said they're hoping this year's event will be the best yet.

"Oh geez, I think we've already sold more tickets this year than the previous three years and I still have people calling. If we could raise $5,000, that would be killer."
