Sarnia pot store applications growing but no approvals yet

A fifth cannabis store has been proposed in Sarnia, although none have opened yet.

An application has been submitted by Yield Cannabis Co. at 1000 Finch Drive, Unit 9.

According to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission website, the public notice stage for the store ended Friday July 24.

Also in progress are applications from Natures Buds on Lambton Mall Road, The Cannabisery on Michener Road, Sessions Cannabis on Murphy Road, and The We Store on Exmouth Street.

The Doug Ford government announced late last year that it was abandoning its previous lottery system and moving to an open market for retail cannabis stores.

An application is also pending in Grand Bend for The Bend Cannabis Co. at 19 Main Street.
