A 25-year-old Sarnia man is facing weapons charges after being arrested by city police on outstanding fraud charges Wednesday.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., police said an officer spotted a suspect in the area of Queen Street and Johnston Street.
A man was arrested and a search of his backpack allegedly turned up a replica .357 calibre revolver with six chambered rounds and several break and enter tools.
Robert James Gordon Maness is charged with fraud under $5,000, fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of stolen property under $5,000, failure to comply with release and weapons prohibition orders, possession of break and enter instruments, and four counts of breaching probation.
He was being held for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.
