The Rural Lambton COVID Testing Centre is moving from Petrolia to Wyoming.
The Central Lambton and North Lambton health teams and the Town of Plympton-Wyoming have collaborated to provide more centralized access to testing in the county.
Starting Monday, December 14, testing will move from the current site in Petrolia to the new wellness centre at 596 Broadway Street in Wyoming.
Testing will continue to be by appointment only.
“Our teams have been working collaboratively for several months now out of the Petrolia testing site. Shifting testing to Wyoming will further broaden access," said Family Health Team Executive Director Sarah Milner. "We are thrilled to partner with the municipality to provide this important service to the entire rural community."
Plympton-Wyoming Mayor Lonny Napper said the municipality and its partners, the Wyoming Lion's Club, Plympton-Wyoming Agricultural Society and TD Canada Trust are thrilled to be part of the collaboration.
We cannot think of a better opportunity to introduce our new health and wellness centre to Lambton County," said Napper in a statement. "The town is looking forward to working with the Central Lambton Family Health Team and the North Lambton Community Health Centre and supporting their endeavors in the future.”
The Plympton-Wyoming Wellness Centre is located in the former TD Canada Trust branch on Broadway Street that the bank donated to the town.
